THE STYLISTIC CHARACTERISTICS OF METAPHORS AND SIMILES IN PROVERBS IN ENGLISH AND UZBEK LANGUAGES

This thesis investigates the way metaphors and similes are used in English and Uzbek proverbs. Proverbs are a part of what makes a country’s culture special. They show us what people think is important. They tell us about the values and morals of a society and how people see the world. Metaphors and similes are very good at helping us create pictures in our minds. They make proverbs more meaningful. English proverbs and Uzbek proverbs use metaphors and similes to say things in a way that's easy to understand. Metaphors and similes are important, in proverbs because they help us understand the message better. This study is looking at the kinds of metaphors and similes that are used in English and Uzbek proverbs. It wants to find out what they mean. How they are used in a stylish way.
