In the post-independence period, Uzbek literature is studied as a process of restoring historical memory, forming national consciousness, reviving cultural heritage, and artistically interpreting historical events. The article analyzes the reconsideration of historical themes in literature during the years of independence, the depiction of historical figures and events, and the development of society's historical awareness through national memory. At the same time, the methods of artistic interpretation of historical events, genres and styles used by writers, as well as the social and cultural significance of historical memory are highlighted. The results of the study make it possible to determine the role of post-independence literature in strengthening national identity and shaping historical consciousness.
